(29/11/2013) Fifteen people have been able to deepen knowledge on astronomical topics from Espai Orígens outdoor. The activity was organized with the aim of enhancing the natural heritage of the area where Espai Orígens is located and with the desire to join the initiatives related to tourism of stars. Who was one of the initiators of the Astronomical Park of Montsec, Xavier Palau, has made relevant comments on the starry sky and defended the need to “preserve the heritage of dark skies, which places the landscape as a prime destination for the astrotourism”.

The centre, located within the area of distinction-backed Starlight Reserve by UNESCO in recognition of its good quality dark sky, has planned this activity to complement the screening of the documentary “La Serra del Cosmos”, released last October by Balaguer Television. The authors, Cristina Berengué and Albert Lijarcio, explained how they carried out this work and the objective pursued with the documentary.

“We are young and we are used to live in austerity but that does not mean we are satisfied”, said Berengué, referring to the fact that the film was financed entirely with equity of both authors. Meanwhile, Lijarcio said that “La Serra del Cosmos aims to find new ways to tell stories.”
